Time to get Psalm 88 out

Well that makes me feel sick down to my balls. England lost to Germany in tonight's international football match at Wembley. I'm sure that there are many depressed English folk wandering back home from their local pubs right now – but let me tell you that they know nothing! Try living in Germany and loosin to em. Oh may the ground swallow me, the hills fall on me. Woe is me...

Imagine how you will feel when Shane Warne starts playing cricket for the Germans...

When Germany start beating England at cricket, is the day I change my name to Hans von Mühlhausen.

I'll hold you to that...

Anyway...I don't know if the streets of Germany would have been safe for you to walk had England won.

Get it right up ye Tilling! ;)

The mistake you geezers that hail from the lands that are to the south of us always make...is in pretending you are any good in the first place. Take a leaf from us Scots...we KNOW we are kack and take great pride when we *only lose by a couple*. :)

Been enjoying reading your blog (apart from all that Pauline Christology crap...whoooosh!) ;)

Hope your good,
Slainte Mhath!

Your old buddy Glen.

Yes the game yesterday was not bad at all. For me (actually American - but I've lived here in Germany for the last 17 years) it was wonderful. The best was that we didn't even have all of our men - 11 injured! Germany was the last team to win in the old, and the first team to win in the new Wembley. That actually has a theological ring to it!
But I don't want to rub it in too much. Heads up - Beckham is in goods hands now, I'm sure he'll find his old rhythm again. ;^)

Two world wars and one world cup. Ponder these things in your heart my son.

Glen, mate! Nice to hear from you! Just one question: Scotland has a football team? I didn't realise that. I'll write to you when I return to England - bit too busy packing right now. But really great to hear from you!

Tim, no one likes a gloater!

Thank you Steven, thank you! I stopped my weeping when I read your kind words.

Oh Glen, I do remember that Scotland has a 'national' football team. Yes. I remember THE CRAP GETTING WHOOPED OUT OF THEM BY ENGLAND!

No one likes a gloater? You haven't heard the song '54, 74, 90 and 2010' then?

Still , you have to hand it to the Germans.

Just ask Paul Robinson.

Steven,
"Still , you have to hand it to the Germans."

The very thing I am loath to do...
