Thank you all for the hilarious comments on my last post. This all reminds me of the competition I ran for the last New Year celebrations: the Lords per minute competition. Actually, it recently occurred to me that I never announced the winner, who will receive a copy of the Pope's new book on Jesus.

I am New Testament Tutor for St Mellitus College and St Paul's Theological Centre, London. In my postgraduate research (under the supervision of Max Turner) I’m working on a thesis that concerns the christological significance of the language Paul used to describe the relationship between risen Lord and believer. My blog, Chrisendom, is primarily occupied with biblical and theological themes – especially those Apostle Paul shaped, but I try as best as I can to squeeze in a decent amount of inappropriate baloney on the way. I can certainly sympathize with hearing the word 'just' all the time, but as a counter-balance to all the hilarity maybe I could JUST point out (no pun intended, heh heh) that the word is actually a sign of deference to the Lord: you are afraid to ask Him for more than His will or your spiritual needs demand. So taken as a sign of humility, it's not all that bad.
